1. Special Disclosure on Third-Party AI Services & Data Sharing (App Store Compliance)

VoltVoice leverages third-party generative multimodal artificial intelligence services to deliver real-time simultaneous voice interpretation. Pursuant to Apple App Store Review Guidelines 5.1.1(i) and 5.1.2(i), we explicitly disclose the following data collection and sharing practices:

2. How We Collect and Use Other Personal Information

In adherence to the principle of data minimization, we collect only the necessary information required to deliver low-latency real-time interpretation:

2.1 Microphone Audio & Live Translation Stream

• Microphone Permission: When you start Single Live Interpretation or Face-to-Face Dialogue, the app requests microphone permission (NSMicrophoneUsageDescription). This is solely used to capture acoustic speech for real-time translation. You can deny this permission, in which case live audio features will be disabled.
• Encrypted Streaming Transmission: Audio captured from your device is streamed in binary chunks over an encrypted connection (WSS / HTTPS / TLS 1.3) to our edge infrastructure and Google Gemini AI endpoints for sub-second transcription and translation.
• Zero Storage Guarantee: Once the translation text and synthesized voice chunks are delivered to your screen, the memory buffer is wiped immediately. No audio files, voiceprints, or conversational logs are retained on our servers or third-party AI providers.

2.2 Account & Authentication Data

• Guest Mode (Anonymous Device Identifier): If you use the app without logging in, a randomized unique identifier (UUID / Vendor ID) is maintained locally to grant an initial 180-second free trial quota and coordinate session leases. It is not linked to any real-world identity.
• Sign in with Apple: When you choose to log in, we utilize Apple's secure Sign in with Apple mechanism. We receive a unique Apple Subject ID, authorization code, identity token (verified cryptographically against Apple's JWKS and nonces), and any display name or email you choose to provide (including Apple's Private Email Relay). We never access your Apple ID password.
• Purpose: To establish your synchronized VoltVoice account, associate your monthly subscription tier (Student or Business), and maintain accurate quota balances across devices.

2.3 Session Metering & Usage Analytics

• Usage Metering: To accurately deduct time against your free trial or active subscription plan, our backend records session start/stop timestamps, lease heartbeats, and monotonically increasing session duration (elapsedSeconds).
• Usage Trend Charts: We summarize aggregated daily and monthly usage metrics so you can review transparent usage visualizations within the "My Account" tab.

2.4 In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

• All subscriptions (Student Plan: 120 minutes/month; Business Plan: 360 minutes/month) are processed through Apple App Store StoreKit 2.
• We only verify cryptographically signed transaction receipts (JWS / Transaction ID / Original Transaction ID) with the official Apple App Store Server API. We never collect, process, or store credit card numbers, bank details, or financial credentials.

3. Cloud Infrastructure & Service Vendors

In addition to Google AI services detailed in Section 1, we entrust reputable cloud providers with encrypted infrastructure routing:

• Edge Compute & Global Network: Cloudflare, Inc. [Global Edge Security & Routing]
  • Processed Data: Encrypted API traffic, WebSocket handshakes, IP addresses for routing and DDoS mitigation.
  • Purpose: Powers Cloudflare Workers serverless edge execution, KV state caching, and worldwide Anycast network routing.
• Cloud Database: Neon Inc. [Serverless Postgres]
  • Processed Data: User account identifiers (Apple Subject ID), subscription validity, and aggregated usage metrics.
  • Purpose: Provides resilient and encrypted persistent relational database storage with TLS encryption.
• Store & Identity Verification: Apple Inc. [App Store Server API]
  • Processed Data: Transaction tokens, subscription receipts, and Apple ID token verification.
  • Purpose: Validates subscription entitlements, handles plan upgrades, and enables secure authentication.
• High-Availability Dual-Channel Architecture:
  • VoltVoice employs an intelligent dual-channel system comprising a primary edge channel (wss://live-trans-cf.ranyitech.app) and a high-availability fallback channel (wss://live-trans-g.ranyitech.app, routed through Google Cloud infrastructure). Voice streams are routed dynamically and exclusively for live translation.

4. Data Storage, Security & Cross-Border Processing

4.1 Data Security

• Encryption in Transit: All communication between your device, our backend, and third-party AI APIs is strictly encrypted using TLS 1.3 and WSS protocols.
• Token Security: We implement short-lived Access Tokens paired with rotating Refresh Tokens to protect your session integrity.
• Anti-Abuse Soft Deletion: Account cancellations cleanly delete profile records while preserving an anti-abuse cryptographic anchor to prevent repetitive exploitation of free trial quotas.

4.2 Cross-Border Data Processing

To deliver millisecond-level responsiveness for more than 20 global languages worldwide, our edge endpoints and neural processing clusters operate across globally distributed cloud networks. Your transient audio chunks may be routed through the nearest international edge node for real-time computation. We reiterate: all voice processing is completely volatile in server RAM and immediately discarded. No audio recordings or conversation texts are permanently stored outside or within any jurisdiction.

5. Your Rights and Choices

We provide full control over your personal data:

1. Access and Review: You can inspect your account status, active subscription plan, remaining balance, and historical daily/monthly usage trends directly in the "Account" tab.
2. Microphone Permissions & AI Consent: You can enable or revoke microphone access at any time via iOS Settings > VoltVoice, and reset your AI sharing consent inside the app's About screen.
3. Manage Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel auto-renewing subscriptions at any time via iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
4. Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account by tapping "Delete Account" in the Account tab. Our backend will immediately revoke Apple credentials (/auth/revoke), purge your personal profile and historical usage logs (DELETE /v1/me), and sign you out.

6. Protection of Minors

VoltVoice is not directed to children under 14 years of age. Minors should use this service only with the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product enhancements or legal compliance. Substantive updates will be announced prominently within the app or on our website. Continued use of VoltVoice following such updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
